THE FLOWERS STORY

The Peony is a beautiful flower that is known to be a well-respected bloom in early summer gardens.

It is derived from the Latin name, “Paeonia”.

These flowers thrive during the spring season in colors of pink, cream, burgundy, white, red and peach.

The flower grows in a bush-like form.

As a result, it can grow to be the size of a large shrub with nutrients and fertilizer.

The petals of the head are said to resemble soft silk. As a result, they are often featured in silk paintings.

Although the peony is cultivated all around the world, China and Japan excel in harvesting this variety.

THE ASIAN INFLUENCE

Both cultures honor the flower highly within religious, social and spiritual aspects.

One of the symbolic meanings of this flower is tied to royalty and honor.

Peonies are often used in ceremonies as they represent the idea of wealth, luck and good fortune.

Centuries ago, Chinese medicine claimed that the blossoms contained medicinal properties.

Peonies are often seen growing in monastery gardens and are sure to catch your eye!

In addition, they are a popular choice for tattoos on their own or as an addition to a larger design.

Peonies were popular in woodblock prints during the Edo period.

Thus, they have become common with Japanese tattoos.

In addition, the peony is a strong symbol of beauty and fragility.

They can also represent the transitory nature of existence.

In conclusion, they depict that getting great rewards is only possible by taking great risks.
